DESCRIPTION:‘Our battle is not only a battle for survival\, to survive for the sake of surviving\, no; it is a battle to participate in the fight for a better world\, to participate in that fight together with the world.’ Fidel Castro\, 24 August 1998.\n\nFour days before the US presidential elections\, we discuss the difficulties facing the Cuban people\, with the global Covid-19 pandemic and the tightening of the US blockade\, and how the Revolution continues to resist. In 2019 alone\, the Trump administration introduced 86 new sanctions against Cuba; to starve the country of revenue\, scare off foreign partners\, create scarcity\, and obstruct oil shipments from Venezuela. The US blockade cost Cuba $4 billion last year. The Trump administration has increased attacks on Cuba to secure victory in the key-state of Florida.\nThe Cuban economy has suffered the loss of revenues from medical services exports\, the decrease in US tourism in 2019\, the freeze in international tourism due to the Covid-19 lockdown and the fall in remittances. US sanctions create shortages of medicines\, and prevent Cuba from purchasing\, or receiving donations of medical equipment to treat Covid-19 patients. Man kann sich online dazu für ein kostenloses “Ticket” anmelden und so in der passenden Zeit den Rhythmen lauschen. Es soll zeitgleich auch im kubanischen Fernsehen übertragen werden. \nProgramm und Künstler:\nKonzert für Kuba\, Sonntag 19. Juli\, 2:00 Uhr\nKonzert für Kuba\, Montag 20. Juli\, 2:00 Uhr \nLivestreams am 19./20.7.:\nHotHouseGlobal on You Tube\nHotHouse web site\nFacebook / HotHouseChicago\nVeranstalter: Instituto Cubana De La Música\, Hothouse\, Raul Cuza And Bill Martinez \nKulturorganisatoren aus den USA und Kanada haben sich mit dem Instituto Cubano de la Musica (ICM) in Kuba zusammengetan\, um eine besondere Hommage an die besonderen Beiträge Kubas\, während der Covid-19-Pandemie an die Welt\, zu veranstalten. Das Konzert wird Kubas heldenhaften und übergroßen Beiträge zur Gesundheitsversorgung auf der ganzen Welt würdigen\, zu der sich Ärzte dieses Jahr freiwillig gemeldet haben\, um in mehr als 26 Ländern zu dienen. Diese Beiträge wurden trotz schwerwiegender Verwüstungen durch US-Sanktionen unter Trump und die anhaltende Blockade geleistet. Für diese und weitere Opfer fordern viele auf der ganzen Welt\, dass Kuba den Nobelpreis 2020 erhält. \nDie zweitägige kulturelle Veranstaltung wird das legendäre Talent zeigen\, welches auf kubanischem Boden gefördert wird und weltweit virtuose Künstler hervorgebracht hat. Musiker außerhalb Kubas\, die von zahlreichen afro-kubanischen Stilen beeinflusst sind oder solidarisch mit den Zielen der Veranstaltung spielen\, nehmen ebenfalls teil. Die Liste der Talente\, die für dieses historische Ereignis gesammelt wurden\, zeichnet das Konzert als eine der denkwürdigsten Zusammenkünfte der Musikgeschichte aus. \nEingebettet in das musikalische Ereignis werden Ehrungen von langjährigen Freunden Kubas\, anderen Künstlern\, Politikern in den USA\, religiösen Führern\, Akademikern und Aktivisten das Programm begleiten und das Event in einen Kontext setzen. \nDie Sendung wird LIVE vom Instituto Cubano de la Musica in Havanna und von Orten auf der ganzen Welt ausgestrahlt\, während die physische Distanzierung weiterhin gewahrt wird. \nInnerhalb Kubas wird der Live-Stream im nationalen Fernsehen in ganz Kuba ausgestrahlt.
