No War on Cuba!

We need Cuba, Cuba needs us!
Support the protest camp at the US embassy in Berlin!
September 12th to 19th, 24/7
Brandenburger Tor, Platz des 18. März / near Bremer Weg, Berlin

For decades, Cuba has resisted the US empire’s attempts to squash its revolution by means of the most brutal economic blockade in history. Under the reign of Donald Trump, this already unprecedented blockade continues to escalate.

In January, the US imposed a complete fuel blockade against Cuba. Since then, it has repeatedly threatened the island with military aggression. The last cargo ship delivering oil to Cuba landed at its shores in April. The situation grows more dire day by day: besides energy, Cuba lacks medicine, food and other everyday goods. Every day, people die simply for a lack of medication, or because hospitals are rendered unable to carry out lifesaving operations. Most European governments silently accept the US regime’s illegal actions. Their inaction makes them complicit in genocide.

Throughout history, Cuba has proven its commitment to international solidarity: with liberation movements all over the world, especially in the fight against South Africa’s Apartheid regime; by educating doctors from the Global South; by sending envoys of doctors to crisis areas; and sponsoring literacy programs all over the world.

Cuba needs solidarity in return. Our solidarity. Now.

Cuba’s fate is of international relevance: should the US succeed in squashing the revolution, conditions for progressive, anti-imperialist movements will deteriorate on all continents, but especially in Latin America. The threat of another world war would only increase.

That is why we are taking to the streets in protest – for a whole week.

The protest camp will welcome visitors throughout the entire time. It will serve as a venue to get informed and network while hosting daily lectures, discussion rounds and concerts. Most of all, it will serve a symbol of international solidarity with Cuba!
